| Minister asks for verification of BPL, AAY benificiaries | | |

SRINAGAR, JULY 30
Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Transport (CAPD) Qamar Ali Akhoon has directed all the Assistant Directors of CAPD department, to speed up the process of delivery and insertion of ineligible and deserving families in BPL and Antodiya Annapurna Yojana (AAY) lists.
Official spokesperson stated that the minister further has instructed the concerned authorities to submit these lists forthwith to Nodal Officer (Dy. Commissioners) with a copy to Director of CAPD Kashmir and Jammu and also the Administrative Department.
The Minister said that these measures have been taken following complaints received from general public that ineligible families are not getting ration under the BPL/AAY categories.
The minister said that although the government has constituted re-verification District Committees for the purpose, yet it has been also made obligatory on all the Assistant Directors to accelerate the exercise so that deserving persons and families are included in such lists after proper verification.
