| Chashma Shahi milk Producers make Rs 10 Cr sales : Rajouri-Poonch to get BMCs | | BMC would be established at Rajouri to cater needs Rajouri and Poonch: Manohar | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 30 The J&K Milk Producers Co-operative Limited, Chashma Shahi has earned a profit of Rs. 40 lakh by registering overall turnover of Rs. 10 crore during last fiscal and it has registered a revenue of Rs. 2.50 Crore during last 3 months of current fiscal through the sale of milk products. This information was given today to Minister of State for Co-operative, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma by the functionaries of the organization during his visit to the milk plant at Chashma Shahi. During his visit the minister took stock of the functioning and inspected every section of the plant. He instructed to the concerned to work with added zeal and dedication for promoting the business of the society across the state. He asked for maintenance of quality control of milk, curd and ghee which he said is beneficial for increasing the marketing of the products besides generating further employment opportunities for the youth. Referring to the demands, the Minister said that a Bulk Milk Cooler, (BMC) would be established at Rajouri to facilitate the milk cooperatives societies of Poonch and Rajouri districts. This facility would also be extended to other districts in a phased manner, he added. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Peerzada Mehraj-ud-Din informed the Minister that bonus of Rs. 40 lakh was distributed among the farmers linked with the society as price difference. He said that presently the organization has set up 350 dairy co-operative societies in the state. Later, the minister inspected Public Poultry Cooperative Marketing Society Chekpora, Kalan and Shadab Cooperative Marketing Society Gangipora, Pohru in Budgam district. The Minister was apprised that Public Poultry Cooperative Marketing Society Chekpora, Kalan is coming up at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh under centrally sponsored National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) scheme. The representatives of the Societies projected charter of demands which include exemption of tax on import of day old chicken, industrial status to poultry, loan and insurance facility, subsidy on poultry medicines.
