| Amarnath yatra resumes from Pahalgam route | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jul 30 Pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave from traditional Pahalgam route resumed this morning after remaining suspended for two days due to slippery condition on the track. A Yatra official deputed at Pahalgam told that about 2500 pilgrims left the Nunwan base camp in the morning for Chandanwari, the last motorable station on the traditional track. He said the pilgrims who were at different halting stations for the past two days, also left towards their respective destinations. Some of them are on way to holy cave while others are returning to base camp after darshan of the naturally made ice-Shivlingam in the shrine, he said. Similarly about 2000 pilgrims, including women and children, also left for the holy cave from shortest Baltal base camp for the cave shrine. More than 3.60 lakh pilgrims from all over the country and abroad had darshan of the ice-Shivlingam since the commencement of the Yatra from Pahalgam and Baltal routes. About three dozen pilgrims also died due to heart attack and accidents during the period.
