| NCP demands CBI prove in construction of protection bandh in Kathua | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 30: A delegation of farmers from Dhorsi, Dhani Bkhta, Ghati, Forlan and other villages called on former minister, Thakur Randhir Singh and state NCP chief demanded to appoint high power commission to investigate the bungling in the construction of Rs 16 crore protection bandh funded by central water commission (CWC) for the protection of thousands acres of fertile paddy growing land in the Chang valley in tehsil Kathua. As per press release various social political and farmers organization have expressed concern over the defective protection bandh built in the area. The farmers said that before the rainy season some parts of the bandh have cracked. Since the funds have been provided by the ministry of water resources, Govt of India on the recommendations of the Saiffudin Soz. Thakur assured the delegation that he will approach the highest level to get thorough prove the quality of material and for the defected design of this Rs 16 crore to protect this land as thousands of marginal farmers of Chang valley on the bank of river Ujh in tehsil Kathua. Thakur has appealed the state chief minister to depute high level learn to enquire in this case.
