Army pulled out of Beerwah
7/31/2009 10:07:49 PM
Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 31-Rashtriya Rifels (RR) camp located in Beerwa of Budgam district has been removed, paving way for opening of Beerwa-Sikandrapora road after 15 years.
The camp has been removed after Budgam district administration took up the issue with civil and army authorities in consideration of persistent demand of the locals of the area.
Meanwhile, the people of the area have appreciated the government move. The establishment of the camp, they said had resulted in the closure of Beerwa-Sikandra road, causing inconvenience for the inhabitants as they had to adopt long alternate route to reach Sikandarpora.
The Budgam Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Rafi has said that HPMC processing centre, PHE and Sheep Husbandry Offices will operate at the camp site soon.
