| Kisan federation demands regular supply of electricity, irrigation water to farmers | | |

Jammu, August 1: The J&K Kisan federation has urged upon the administration to provide regular supply of electricity and drinking and irrigation water to the farmers.
Kisan federation in a meeting chaired by its convenor H. Chand Jalmeria farmers are facing lot of problems due to the acute shortage of power and water, beside 11hr cut in a special lines provided for functioning of water pumps. He said border farmers are worst suffers, while as those who are economically better off take maximum benefit of the facilities and poor one’s are ignored. He further said people of hilly areas in district Doda have to bulk 30 to 40 Km to get fertilizers from tehsil Hqs. He demanded that all the villages be connected with good roads, and provide seed & fertilizers facility to farmers at village level not at tehsil level.
Among others who attended the meeting were Dr. Ghansham Singh, Charak, Udey Chand, Satish Bharti, K.K. Rao, Sukhbir Singh and Kamla Devi etc.
