| Cop gets 2 yrs RI; Rs.10, 000 fine for producing fake certificate | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Aug 01- Holding accused Randhir Singh a police cop guilty of offence u/s 471 for producing a forged school leaving certificate to get employment in police department, the Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur JR Kotwal today awarded two years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine to the accused police cop. The Principal Sessions Judge, after hearing Public Prosecutor GR Khajuria appearing for the state and Advocate KB Gupta appearing for the accused, observed that Court has come to the conclusion that the school leaving certificate purportedly issued in favour of the accused from Government High School Salmerhi under File NO 15/84 on August 17, 1985 has not been issued by the said school and is thus a fraud and forged document. The Court further observed that the admission number in the school leaving certificate produced by the accused bears No 441while as the school record shows that under this number one Vijay Kumar son of Amar Chand was admitted in the school on August 6, 1976 in the 10th class. No entry as regards the accused was found in the school records. Acting on an anonymous complaint received in the police department alleging therein that the accused had managed his appointment in police department on fake certificate allegedly issued by Government High Dalmerhi Udhampur the case was taken up for investigation and after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the Court of law.
