| Congress betrayed SCs for decades :BJP SC Morcha | | | Early Times Report Jammu Aug 01 The members of the Scheduled Caste (SC) community in India as have been forced to live with adversaries due to the anti-SC policies of the Congress, alleged BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha (AJM) here today Speaking in a press conference National Vice-President Ramesh Chander Rattan said, “the Congress had been talking about the welfare of the SCs but at the ground all its tall claims have proved to be hoax and misleading.’ Substantiating his accusations, he said the present Congress-NC coalition’s move to ban inter-district recruitment is nothing but a step to harm their interests and the BJP SC Morcha opposes it. National vice president of AJM –BJP said the previous government, which had Congress as its partner, brought SRO-294 to bring down the reservation in promotions to 4 percent from eight percent, thus denying the members of SC community of their right granted to them under the Constitution in employment. He also termed the successive governments of Congress at the centre as anti-SCs and termed the BJP-led NDA as the SCs friendly. He said, while dozens of Indian were conferred with Bharat Ratna by the Congress, it never deemed it fit honour to Dr B.R.Ambedkar with it. ‘It was only the BJP-supported government at the centre in 1989 which honoured Dr. Ambedkar with Bharat Ratna and also got his portrait installed in the Parliament, he said adding that BJP-led NDA also declared the birth place of Dr Ambedkar as National Memorial to give homage to this great leader. He said there are number of instances which expose the real face of Congress and prove that it is the BJP only which has always stood for the cause of the SCs and never misled them with hollow slogans and promises. Morcha State President Narsingh Dass Rajwal, BJP Press secretary Balbir Ram, Morcha Prabhari Bansi Lal Bharti and Morcha Vice-President Surinder Bhagat were also present in the press conference.
