| Protest demonstration against ban on inter-district recruitments | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 2- The Inhabitants of Resham Ghar Colony, Dogra Hall Mohalla, Sarwal, Paloura, Kabir Colony today held protest demonstrations against the recommendations of the select committee for imposing ban on the inter district recruitments. The protesters burnt the effigies of the select committee members and raised slogans in support of their demand of lifting ban on such recruitments. The protesters appealed the Chief Minister not to accept the recommendations of the select committee as the same will mar the chances of many young aspirants to enter into the government service. The protestors said that the state should be treated as a single entity and to compartmentalize it into such small units will result into divisions and cause discontent among the people which will definitely harm the interests of the state itself. In the meantime, the Jammu and Kashmir Backward Classes (OBC) in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Abdul Qadir, a senior member of OBC took strong exception for putting a ban on inter- district recruitments and maintained that it will mar the interests of the weaker sections. The meeting also called for implementation of 27 per cent reservation for OBCs which has been in vogue in the entire country barring Jammu and Kashmir State.
