Dilbag visits STC Sheeri, Bn Hqrs in North Kashmir

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 02- Inspector General of Armed Police (IGP) Armed, Mr. Dilbag Singh today visited Subsidiary Training Centre Sheeri, Baramulla and inspected armed battalion headquarters of North Kashmir.
The IGP Armed inspected the entire Campus including administrative block, barrack accommodation and training infrastructure.
Addressing durbar of trainees and staff members on the occasion, he said that around 5000 constabulary has been recruited in the police department for five-IRP-Batallions, would be trained here.
. Singh gave necessary instructions to the Principal of the Training Centre to gear up the arrangements and be fully prepared to receive a batch of new recruits. During the durbar, some urgent requirements of the staff were discussed and on-spot instructions issued to redress their genuine grievances.
IGP said that IRP-11th has recently shifted to Sheeri for duties in Baramulla District. He urged the officers and jawans to maintain human face while dealing with situations and exercise restrain to the best possible extent. The officers were asked to take care of the welfare needs of the Jawans.
Later, Mr. Singh addressed the durbar of IRP-7th Bn. located in Baramulla and inspected the Battalion premises including the mess, residential block, administrative block and stores of the battalion. The arrangements were found by and large satisfactory except accommodation for which necessary steps are being taken so that the living condition of the Jawans are improved. A large number of officers and Jawans participated in the Darbar. He listened to their problems and conveyed best wishes of the DGP alongwith his appreciations to all the personnel for their excellent performance of duties during elections in 2008-2009 and maintaining the law and order duties during on-going Shri Amar Nath Yatra.
Mr. Singh also inspected Armed Police Campus Parihaspora and took stock of various arrangements and developmental needs of the Campus. He said that one more newly raised Battalion shall be located in the campus for which required arrangements would be made within next couple of days.

During the visit, the IGP was accompanied by DIG, Baramulla, Mr. A. Q. Manhas, SSP, Baramulla, Mr. Viplav Kumar and Commandants of the Battallions, Mr. G. H. Badna, Mr. Mahadeep Singh and Mr. Fareed Ahamd Khan.
