Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 2: The Central University Andolan Samiti (CUAS) spearheading the ongoing movement for setting up Central University in Jammu today announced to observe “Virodh Diwas” tomorrow August 3 in entire province. Announcing this in the meeting of Core Committee of CUAS today, the convernor, CUAS Pavitar Singh said that in order to show the resentment against the delay and discriminative tactics of State Government in establishing Central University in Jammu, the CUAS will observe ‘Virodh Diwas’ tomorrow and will hold protest demonstration in all Degree Colleges of entire Jammu province. He informed that during protest, the effigies of State Government will be torched in protest over this issue. “We have no objection with another University for Kashmir but demanded established of CU which had been sanctioned for Jammu”, he said while commenting on today’s advertisements in newspapers for CU. “Central university has been sanctioned for Jammu and the same needs to be established immediately”, Singh added The convenor said that CUAS leaders and students organization will visit different districts of Jammu province to make aware the people of Jammu about the Central University and its benefits for students community. He however appealed the people to observe ‘Virodh Diwas’ and hold protest demonstrations in support of demands of establishment of Central University in Jammu. Meanwhile, a five member delegation of the Central University Andolan has left for New Delhi today meet HRD Minister Kapil Sibal without consulting spearheading Group CUAS. According to reports the five members delegation demanded that they should be included in talks with Prime Minister and the state cabinet on deciding the issue regarding establishment of Central University. The delegation which left today include Mohinder pal Singh Pandu, Varinder Singh Chib, Ramji Sharma, Nishant Verma, Abhishekh Kaul. While talking to our correspondent, Mohinder pal Singh said that our main demand in this meeting only will be to get one Central University for Jammu. Reacting to decision of five members to visit Delhi to meet HRD Minister, Paviter Singh said, “Some vested interest at the helm of government tried to dilute the ongoing movement”.
