A soldier of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in south Kashmir district of Shopian, official sources said today.
Sources said that deceased identified as Sabzar Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Reshi Nagri, Shopian, was shot dead by gunmen. His bullet riddled body was recovered from Check Ram Nagri, sources added.
Ganie of 17 JAKLI, posted at Hyderabad, was on leave to meet his family members here. A massive hunt has been launched to nab his killers.
No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility, they added.
