Measures discussed for Janam Ashtmi celebrations

JAMMU, AUGUST 3 – District Development Commissioner Jammu Mr. T. Angchok today convened an officers meeting to review the arrangements for the Shobha Yatra scheduled to hold on August 13 on the eve of Shri Krishna Janamashtami.
This year, Janamashtmi falls on August 14 and as per precidence Shobha Yatra will be taken out from various city bazaars on August 13.
Among others President J&K Dharmarth Trust Thakur Divakar Singh, SSP Parminder Singh, SP City North, SP Security, Dy SP CID, XEN R&B, Divisional Fire Officer, AEE PDD City, Assistant Sanitation Officer JMC and senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.

In the meeting, it was decided that the President Dharmik Yuva Mandal will provide a list of Jhankies with their respective points of origin for forwarding them to SSP, Jammu and SSP, Security. The Police department will provide fool-proof security to the Shobha yatra while Jammu Municipal Corporation will conduct a cleanliness drive along the roads, lanes and footpath on the Shobha yatra route.
To finalize the route for the Shobha yatra in wake of ongoing construction works of different roads in the city, the DDC decided to personally inspects the condition of Shobha yatra route along with officers before finalizing the route.
Drinking water arrangements, power supply, Medical facilities and Fire Tender were also discussed in the meeting. It was decided that Health Officer, JMC shall station water tanks at Parade Ground and PHE authority shall ensure their refilling besides providing additional water tankers. Further, on the day of procession there will be no power curtailment in the areas falling on the Shobha Yatra route as well as on Janamashtmi day. Uninterrupted power supply shall be ensured during the intervening night of August 13 and 14.
The Chief Medical Officer was asked to depute a team of doctors with two ambulances and sufficient stock of medicinea.
