| Directorate of environment of organizes painting competition | | | Early Times Report

The department of Environment and Remote sensing organized a painting competition in connection with Global warming at environmental park, Raika Narwal on the occasion of “Van-Mahotsav” 2009. More than 200 students participated in the painting competition.
The topic of painting was the causes of “Global Warming” and Remedies suggested for checking the Global Warming.
The chief guest on this occasion was Chander Shekhar, a social worker and environmentalist, who also planted plant in the park on the occasion of “Van Mahotsav”.
In Junior category the first prize was clinched by Harshita jamwal second position was wore by Ritika Anand the third place was won by Sheikh Sayeed Ali. In senior category payal Bali won the first prize and second prize went to Saloni Verma and third prize was won by Shia Abrol.
The chief guest Chander Shekhar in his speech expressed great concern on Global Warming and appreciate the attempts made by the Directorate of Environments and Educational Institute in the field of creating awareness among the younger generation through such activities.
He also showed pleasure on seeing the paintings and posters made by the students and to leave this globe worth living for the younger generation.
S.C Sharma, D.C .F from Department of Environment and Remote Sensing was also present highlighted the need of plantation for better environment
Usha Anannd principal of School welcomed the guest.
