| Gul inspects dev works in Iddgah | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 4: Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr. Mubarak Gul today conducted extensive tour of iddgah Constituency and took stock of the pace of various developmental projects and welfare schemes under execution in the constituency. He, earlier, held preliminary review meeting of the District Development Board (DDB), Srinagar with senior functionaries of all the departments of Srinagar district which was also attended by District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo, here.
The Advisor sought suggestions from the officers to formulate comprehensive development plans and Welfare schemes which he said would be discussed and approved in ensuring DDBM. Mr. Gul enjoined upon the officers to ensure quality of works and judicious use of funds.
Asking the officers to work with zeal and dedication, Mr. Gul said that people have pinned high hopes with the present dispensation and we have to come up to with their aspirations. He called for completion of different development works in times so that benefits percolate down to the masses.
Mr. Gul directed the concerned to ensure adequate drinking water supply, un-interrupted power supply and sufficient supply of essential commodities during the ensuing holy month of ‘Ramzan’. He directed the PDD authorities to ensure un-interrupted power supply on the eve of ‘Shab-i-Bharat’.
The PDD authorities informed the meeting that creation of two numbers of sub-stations at Gassi Mohalla and Rathpora is in progress. Shifting of sub-station at Masjid Takwa is also in progress. Restoration of street lights from Safakadal bridge to Skihdfar stands restored, the meeting was informed.
It was also informed that the improvement of road work at Nallahmar is in full swing. The project for 17 schemes under Central Road Fund (CRF) have been prepared and submitted to the GOI for necessary sanction. The meeting was informed that 5 road projects costing to Rs. 2.66 crore have been completed in Iddgah Constituency. Under CRF the construction work on Khanyar to Qamarwari left track stands completed at a cost of Rs. 1.14 crore.
Other issues which were discussed in the meeting include demarcation of Anchar Lake, Khushalsar, Construction of shopping complex at Ali Jahn road, Abdul Ahads memorable bridge, construction of Shaltang Pallipora brdge and Cable Car project from Makdoom Sahib to Hariprabat Fort.
During visit to Iddgah constituency, the Advisor also paid obeisance at Ziarat Syed Mansoor Sahib and prayed for peace and development of the state. He gave on the spot directions to the concerned to install street lights in the shrine premises. He also directed for formulating estimates for construction of drain at Dalal Mohalla. Mr. Gul visited Community Hall and Reading Room at Posh Masjid Safakadal also.
During his visit, various deputations met the Advisor en-route and projected their demands which related to provision of better health, PHE, education and roads facilities Mr. Gul gave them patient hearing and assured them that these would be considered on priority.
