| Balbir Singh demands adequate ex-gratia relief for accident victims | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 4- Expressing grief over loss of human lives in a road accident at Billawar, General Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thakur Balbir Singh has demanded grant of adequate ex-gratia relief to the victims’ families. In a statement issued here today, Singh, a former MLA from Billawar, regretted that construction of Billawar-Katli road was started when he was MLA of the area but till today this 19 kilometers track is incomplete. He said that it was all due to indifferent attitude of the authorities that road mishap has become a routine affair on this road. He demanded that black tapping of the Billawar-Katli road should be done as early as possible to mitigate hardship of the residents. He regretted that matter was repeatedly brought to the notice of the concerned authorities but no action has been taken so far despite being the fact it is only road connecting Lahoi-Malhar area. He further demanded that adequate buses and mini buses should also be deployed on this route to avoid over-loading. He said that due to non availability of adequate buses, people have to travel in over-loaded passenger vehicles.
