| PDP MLA castigates collation Govt. for ignoring border areas | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 4- Accusing the coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir of trying to grab the legitimate rights of backward and marginalized areas of the State a senior PDP leader and MLA Darhal Rajouri Ch. Zulfkar Ali today said that the people of border belts of Poonch- Rajouri feel cheated as they are being ignored by the present regime in the over all developmental process. He alleged that people of his constituency were the worst sufferer and the victim of the policies of the NC led government. Addressing media persons here this afternoon Zulfkar, said that Omar led government has adopted a deliberate attitude to victimize the border districts especially the Poonch Rajouri area. He alleged that maximum areas of Poonch and Rajouri have been ignored by the present government while preparing various developmental plans. Quoting an example he alleged that the plans prepared by the State government under Backward Region Grant Fund Scheme which were meant for eradicating regional imbalances of the state are lacking the ground realities and added that the border areas including his constituency Darhal was deliberately ignored by the people who were at the helm of affairs. He demanded that Drahal constituency should be immediately categorized under the BRGF scheme on priority bases. He said that people of his constituency are facing a number of hardships as they lack road connectivity, schools, medical institutions, electricity and other basic amenities in whole area. Criticizing the government for its misdeeds and mischief, Zulfakar Ali expressed dismay over breach of trust with Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Casts and Other Backward Classed while drafting a bill on banning Inter District Recruitment in the State. He said the NC government is bent upon snatching the constitutional rights of tribal and other marginalized groups. He said stopping of reserved category candidates to apply against a vacant post of same category in non-native district is against the fundamental rights adding that he will oppose such move in the State Assembly. He impressed upon the SC ST and OBC communities to unite against this proposed barbaric law which is against the spirit of constitution.
