| Impersonator held at Airport | | | Early times Report Jammu, Aug 4: An impersonator was today caught by a civilian from Jammu Airport and was handed over to the police in Satwari area on city outskirts for allegedly having lured people for job, sources here said. Police sources said that one Mohammad Sultan, impersonating as a professor, resident of Bandipora in Srinagar was nabbed by a civilian namely Shiekh Javed Nazir, at Jammu Airport this afternoon. One of the victim namely Nazir handed the above said impersonator over to the police alleging that he (Sultan) allured him of government job after collecting a hefty amount from him. ''According to the complainant, Sultan has fraudulently collected amount from many people in Srinagar assuring them job in government departments and private sectors,’’ a police official said adding that he also represented himself as a senior leader of a national political party. The matter was being investigated and his links in Kashmir were also being established, the police added.

Several years ago, when Pawan Kotwal was the DC, there was a move to evict the encroachers most of whom have also been paid compensation. However, the move was shelved later due to political interference. Mr Kotwal is now the Divisional Commissioner but things have not changed in Gujjar Nagar.
