| Shrine Music CD dedicated to devotees | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Holy Cave, August 5- On the auspicious occasion of Shravana Purnima, the first cut of the music CD on Holy Shrine of Shri Amarnathji titled ‘Jai Baba Barfani’, based on the hymns of Shri Amarnathji and Shlokas of Nilamat Puran, was offered at the Sanctum Santorum this morning by Governor, Shri N N Vohra, who is also the Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB). The Album has been produced by Santoor maestro, Pt.Bhajan Sopori, Member of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. The Shrine Music CD is based on historical and traditional Shivite practices of Kashmir, aptly described by Pt Sopori as a tribute to Swami Amarnathji. Dr.Ved Kumari Ghai, Member of the Board has provided valuable guidelines in finalizing the text of the CD. The Album is a path-breaking effort which, for the first time, brings together internationally acclaimed singing luminaries like Anup Jalota, Suresh Wadekar, Ashwani Bhide Deshpande, Diva Ragni Rainu and Abhay Rustam Sopori. The album is a blend of traditional Sanskrit Shiv Sutras and Kashmiri hymns. It comprises nine musically endowed tracks, most of these consisting of the hymns, traditionally recited by every Kashmiri Hindu family during daily prayers. The Album also includes hymns from Shivtandav Stotra and Neelmat Purana besides two contemporary compositions penned by Dr Kshema Koul and Vishnu Dev Vishnu. The Album is proposed to be formally released in New Delhi around the first week of September.
