| Al-Bader Divisional Commander killed at Rajouri | | | Srinagar, September 8: Police and army killed Divisional Commander of Al-bader Mujahideen during a fierce encounter in Rajouri, while as attempt to kill a civilian failed in Doda. Reports reaching Srinagar indicate that sleuths of police and army laid a siege around a militant hide out at Ginjnal Manjakote Rajouri during which holed up militants tried to flee from the besieged place. Heavy exchange of fire, according to SSP Rajouri Farooq Khan, continued for two hours during which Divisional Commander of Al-bader Mujahideen militant outfit identified as Ibn-e-Qasim R/O Afghanistan was killed. The slain militant carried a cash award of Rs2 lakhs on his head, police sources said. The recovery of one AK 47 rifle, 40 rounds of bullets, 3 magazines, 5 grenades, a wireless set and some ammunition from the possession of slain militant is being claimed. The said Afghan militant, according to SSP Farooq Khan, was operating in Rajouri district one and a half year back and had migrated to Muzaffarabad three years back from where he crossed over to Rajouri. Meanwhile one Kuldeep Singh S/O Bansi Lal R/O sarsai Doda was abucted and unidentified gun men moves a sharp edged weapon around his neck and fled from the spot with the feeling that they have killed Kuldeep. However he was only injured and people shifted him to hospital immediately. |
