| Saroori distributes appointment orders among 100 ReTs, 51 Anganwari helpers | | | Early Times Report Thatri- Doda, Aug 6- Minister for R&B G. M. Saroori, who is on a five day visit of Kishtwar and Doda districts, today distributed appointment orders among 51 Angawari helpers at Drab Shalla and 100 Rehbar-e- Taleem teachers at Kishtwar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that un-employment is a burning issue before the government, adding that all out efforts are being made by the government to curb the problem in the state. He asked educated youth not to chase government jobs and instead establish income generating units for which financial institutions are providing loans on low interest rates. He said various schemes have been launched by the government to persuade educated youth towards setting up income generating units , which, he said, would not only provide them the means of livelihood but employment to other persons also.
On way, a large number of people met the minister and apprised him about their problems. The Minister assured them that all their genuine demands would be looked into and meted out in a phased manner.
Referring to the demand of the people of Kontwara, Saroori instructed the engineers of R&B to conduct a survey of the area to explore the possibility for construction of bridge at Kandhni to connect Kontwara, a habitation of destitute families. Regarding setting up a college at Thatri, Saoori assured that the matter would be taken up with the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Ministry of Education for early consideration. About Ganpati Bridge, coming up at a cost of Rs. 29 crore, the Minister said engineers have been asked to speed up the work to complete it early so that a long pending public demand is fulfilled.
Commissioner Secretary, R&B, Mehboob Iqbal, Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu, senior officers of various departments, besides senior Congress leader Ghulam Mustafa Azad and Mushtaq Ahmad Hap also accompanied the Minister.
