| Malik for focused attention to develop far flung areas | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Aug 6- Stressing for focused attention for all round development of remote and far flung areas, the Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik, who is the also Chairman of, District Development Board (DDB), Kishtwar, has said provision of basic amenities especially drinking water, better education, improved healthcare, sanitation, quality education and better road connectivity to the people needs to be addressed on top priority. .
Addressing review meeting of the DDB Kishtwar which was convened to take stock of the pace of development scenario in the district, the Minister said that the two decades long turmoil has given severe setback to the development process in the state and need of the hour is to give fresh impetus to the same.
The meeting discussed sector wise achievements of the last fiscal besides taking detailed status report of some of the mega projects under execution in the district under GREF, PMGSY, NREGS, GREF and Kishtwar Development Authority.
The Minister asked the DDC, to take immediate measure for giving further boost to the development activities under progress in the district. He also stressed for proper monitoring of the process of development so that the benefits of the welfare and development schemes reach to the targeted habitation/people in the remote and backward pockets of the district.
Giving resume of progress registered during last fiscal the DDC said that 92.34% of annual plan was expended on various schemes
