| MoS Power asks CE to give financial assistance to injured lineman | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, AUGUST 06 - Minister of State for Power, Forest, CAPD, Transport, Labour & Employment, Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan along with the Chief Engineer (CE), EM & RE Wing, Jammu, Mr. Ajay Gupta and other officers of the Power Development Department visited the Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu to see the ailing lineman, Mr. Mohammad Akbar, who was seriously injured while on duty rectifying a defaulty transmission line.
The Minister instructed the CE to provide all possible financial assistance to the injured lineman permissible under rules to the ailing lineman. He said that government respect the employees who show dedication to duty and would do its utmost for rehabilitating the employees succumbing to injury while performing his duty. He asked the CE to come up with a wide survey about the accidents taking place while performing duty so that a comprehensive policy is chalked out for increasing the safety measures.
The Minister also visited the Doctor’s Hostel to review the power supply at the hostel. He instructed the CE to submit an estimate for giving separate power line for Doctor’s hostel from the feeding station.
The Minister also met the striking employees of GMC, Jammu and assured them that all their genuine demands will be put before the Minister for Medical Education for their early redressal. He assured that government is fully concerned about the problems of the employees and is taking steps to mitigate them phase-wise. He asked employees to perform their duties honestly and with full dedication.
Meanwhile, Mr.Khan also expressed grief and shock over the sad and untimely demise of a leading businessman and a prominent personality of Jammu, Mr. Ram Sahai Kakkar, President Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The minister prayed for peace on departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
Mr. Khan also mourned the sad and untimely demise of Mr. Yogesh Mahajan alias Keshi, brother of Lalit Mahajan, Block President of Congress, Rajouri.
