| ECTA to observe2-day pen down strike on Aug 11 | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 7- The Engineering College Teacher’s Association (ECTA) has decided to revive its agitational program following the government failure to act on its charter of demands for implementation of pay/recruitment rules since last 14 years. The ECTA has suspended its agitational program following assurance by the senior officials of Higher Education department, who promised to speed up the process for implementation of the pay/recruitment rules file, which was pending for last more than 10 years in the secretariat. The decision to revive ECTA’s agitational program to press the government for implementation of pay rules as per All India Council for Technical Education, (AICTE) norms, was taken in a meeting of the Government Engineering College Teacher’s Association,(ECTA) held under the chairmanship of Rajiv Bali, president here. ECTA members decided to observe two days day pen down strike on August 11 and August 12, 2009.
