| 200 flats Press Colonies to come up in Srinagar, Jammu | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 07 – A proposal to set up two press colonies for providing residential accommodation to media persons both at Srinagar and Jammu is under consideration of the government. The Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board has been asked to identify two housing colonies comprising of 200 flats in both the capital cities of the state. This was stated by the Minister for Rural Development Ali Mohammad Sagar on behalf of Minister for Information in reply to a question of Ashok Kumar in Legislative Assembly today. He said Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has been asked to identify a suitable site for setting up of press club in Srinagar while as press club at Jammu has already been commissioned. Saying that media is considered as 4th estate of the democracy, the Minister said that every possible measure will be taken to provide them adequate facilities adding that government accommodation has been provided to 87 media persons in Jammu and 58 in Srinagar so far.
