| Girls at fore, seeking support for CU | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 7- Leaving behind the boys far behind large number of girl students of different degree colleges in Jammu are playing vital role in the ongoing agitation over central university issue in Jammu. A day after Central University Andolan Samiti gave a day long bandh call on August 10 a group of students visited several city markets to garner support in favour of CUAS. Led by Preeti Choudhary and other ABVP activists of Government Women's College Gandhi Nagar and Parade Ground they visited several market places and urged representatives of different market associations to support bandh call on August 10 to give a strong message to the state government that Jammu will remain united in its fight against the discrimination with the Jammu region. Preeti Choudhary said," we are meeting different people to garner support in favour of their ongoing agitation for central university in Jammu. She said as students they are unhappy with the approach of the state government as it is adopting dual policy and not clearing the air over the issue of central university. Another prominent student leader said that if the state government is serious about its commitment then it should immediately start ground work on the construction of central university at the proposed location in Samba and immediately shift office of the Vice Chancellor from Srinagar to Samba to supervise construction work of the central university.
