| SOS School celebrates Vanmohatsava | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 7: Vanmohatsava was inaugurated with tree plantation ceremony in SOS Hermann Gmeiner School today. As many as three hundred sapling s were panted in the sprawling campus of the school by the students on the first day. Pritam Singh (DFO, Social Forestry Division, Talab Tillo Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. Among other dignitaries Sanjeev Bhat village incharge SOS Children’s village, Jammu was the guest of honour. As per a release the programme commended with the ceremonial tree plantation by all the dignitaries present on the occasion. A colourful cultural programme was also presented which started with the Saraswati Vandana followed by the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest who was given floral welcome by the principal Mohd Ayub. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty enlightened the students on the importance of plants and preserving the environment, he urged and motivated the children to plant more and more trees and take care of them. On the occasion prizes and certificates were given to those who brought laurels to the school by participating at National (Judo) and state level (Chess Championship) in sports and Dance competition, the release added.
