EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 7: Strike launched by the Food & Allied Worker’s Union entered in its second day today. As per press release, food operation function remained suspend in all the tehsil & district headquarters of Anantnag, Baramulla, Badgam, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Kupwara, Shopian, Pulwama, Jammu, Kathua, Udhmampur, Doda, Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Ramban and Samba together with observing complete bandh in all the Muffassil Depots which seemed to have no effect on the government. A meeting of the union leaders was held under the chairmanship of Nazim Din, vice president, F&AWU Jammu & Kashmir. While deliberating on the issue, it was decided in the meeting to organize protest rallies both at Jammu and Srinagar. In Jammu, protest march will start from Exhibition Ground Jammu and shall culminate at Divisional Commissioner’s Office Jammu; similarly rally will be taken out in Srinagar. It is impressed upon the authorities of the department to take immediate action in all the burning issued tabled with them for a pretty long time so that the poor labourers are not forced to proceed ahead, the government shall be responsible for the consequences thereof, the release added.
