| DDC reviews progress under EGS in Rajouri | | | RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 28 - An advance of over Rs. eight crore has been disbursed among 1265 beneficiaries under Employment Generation Scheme (EGS) in district Rajouri upto ending June of the current financial year. This was disclosed at a review meeting of District Consultative Committee of Lead Bank held here yesterday under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Mr. Parvez Malik. Deliberating upon the progress of bankers and sponsoring agencies, Convener, Lead District Manager informed the meeting that out of the total beneficiaries, 936 have been provided loans of Rs. 1.27 crore including 764 beneficiaries under crop loans worth Rs. 57,000. Similarly, 36 youth were granted loan of Rs. 51.34 lakh under small scale industries for setting up of industrial units in the district. In the services sector, 293 youth were provided loan of Rs. 6.28 crore. The meeting further apprised that Rs. 38 lakh were also provided to 76 beneficiaries under SGSY. In the meantime, Rs. nine crore were also advanced to as many as 1124 beneficiaries by various banks under non priority sector during the reported period. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC emphasized upon the bankers and sponsoring agencies to ensure full accomplishment of target fixed under various employment generation schemes and efforts should be initiated in right earnest to achieve parity in physical and financial achievements by minimizing procedural delay so that the benefits of these schemes could be percolate down to the desirous youth. |
