| Sewera launches plantation drive in Channi Himat | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 8- As part of the celebrations of 60th Vanmhotsav an impressive function was held by the residents of Channi Himat in collaboration with SEWERA, NGO,72 Bn CRPF and Social Forestry Department and decided to launch massive plantation drive to keep the area neat and clean and pollution free.
On this occasion a ‘Gayatri Havan’ was also performed by NKS High School run by Sewera.
Dr. Pawan Kotwal Divisional Commissioner Jammu and other dignitaries present on the occasion spoke on soil conservation, environmental degradation and extinction of various species and also praised the role of the organizers especially the CRPF for their endeavor in making the area green.
Earlier, the students of the school presented a colorful program and read out papers highlighting the importance of plantation and environment.
Dr. Gurmeet Singh President SEWERA thanked all the participants and the CRPF personnel for their keen interest in helping the NGO in its drive to make the area green and free from pollution.
