| Nurses demand higher pay scales | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 8- Nursing Association Government Medical College of Jammu today highlighted their demands and sought earlier redressal. Addressing media persons here today, Sunita, President of the Association demanded up gradation of pay scale of Junior staff nurses from 4000-6000 to 5700-10100, creation of additional posts of GNMs, senior staff nurses, supervisory and assistant matrons on the pattern of PGI/AIIMS by virtue of creation of there additional posts promotion avenues will be created. She further demanded issuance of degree in favour of GNM trainees instead of diploma, enhancement of uniform allowance to Rs 500 from Rs.100, sanctioning of risk allowance and regularization of adhoc/contractual and consolidates GNMs. She appealed the government to concede their demands at the earliest. The Association also decided to support strike in favour of contractual, adhoc and consolidated employees. Among others present at the press conference included Madhu Khajuria, chairperson, Jatuma Bibi, Indu Khurdi and Neelam Khokher.
