Udhampur Aug 8- A famous businessman’s son, dealing with sweets business, has been booked by local police for allegedly beating up a local 12th class girl and threatening her at 'pistol point' at Chabutra Bazar near Mosque in the heart of Udhampur late last evening .The accused has been identified as Manoj Khajuria, son of Raj Kumar of Housing Colony Udhampur.
According to reports the accused was teasing a girl since last few months and today intercepted her at Chabutra Bazar near Mosque and allegedly beat up the girl publically and later aimed a 'pistol' at her with a threatening to kill her. Meanwhile, after the intervention of locals youth fled the spot along with weapon.
Reports added that the girl somehow reached her home and informed her parents about the incident who later reported the matter to police. Meanwhile, Police have registered a case under section 323, 341 and 354 RPC against the accused. However, sources said that being a son of influential businessman police is working under pressure and is busy is changing the theory of incident saying it that the boy threatened the girl with toy pistol and not with original one .Accused was absconding after incident and police could not succeed to arrest him .Meanwhile, local resident has shown concern about the growing lawlessness in city from past some time and has demanded to keep check upon such miscreants who are bent upon to disturb peace in the town
