| First Kissan Panchayat holds meet | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 8- The Kissan Panchayat, first of its kind, was held at the Central Cooperative Bank here today. Madan Lal Sharma MP was the Chief Guest and Rattan Lal Gupta, provisional president, NC along with Rajesh Sharma, Chairman, Kissan Council and J&K Cooperative Union presided over. Appreciating the organizers for organizing the first ever Kissan Panchayat, Mandal Lal promised all possible help. He said lack of communication between government and farmers at grass route level should end for development. While welcoming the guests, Rajesh Sharma said that Kissan Council has been formed to provide platform to all kinds of framers in the state. He said by holding such councils, one can easily reach out to the farmers to know their problems and seek redressal. Tejinder Singh, President, Kissan Council gave in-depth analysis of various government schemes which farmers should avail. He further said that floriculture can become on of the biggest employment avenue for youth of the state. Vikrant Dogra, General Secretary, Kissan Council said that all opportunists both in the government and the private sector has always bended to towards organized sectors. He said since farmers in other parts of the country have been more united, hence they have shown better progress as well. He further said that Kissan Council will try to fill the gap between the government and the farmers Farooq "Inqalabi", Jagdish Singh, Tara Chand Bhagat, Ali Mohammed, Kulbhusan Khajuria and Basant Saini also spoke on the occasion.
