| NSS unit holds plantation drive | | | Early Times Report

NSS UNIT of GCW, Kathua in collaboration with NGO ASHA held plantation drive in the collage campus today in which Principal Dr. Satinder Singh, NSS volunteers along with staff and the members of the NGO took part.
More than 200 trees of different species were planted. The plantation drive held to celebrate environment week to educate the public in general and students in particular about the relevance of trees to human life. On this occasion principal of the collage Dr. Satinder Singh laid stress on creation of eco-friendly environment for the survival of humanity. Moreover, keeping in view the Global warming such drives play very important role in preserving the environment. NSS programme Officer Prof. Joginder Singh, also spoke on the occasion. Prof. Yash Paul Sharma also laid stressed on plantation for the welfare of society. President of NGO ASHA Mr. O.P gupta & N.M. Sumberia chief organizer along with other members spoke on the occasion and high lighted the role of trees in human life and appealed the public to plant trees for preservation of environment.
