| SRTC Union calls off strike: Govt | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 8: Minister for Transport and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Qamar Ali Akhoon has said that the government is aware of the problems faced by the employees of SRTC and requisite measures are being initiated for redressal of their problems in a phased manner. The Minister was addressing a deputation of SRTC workers Union, led by its President Shakeel Ahmed Kuchey who called on him here today. Akhoon stressed for maintaining better coordination between the workers and Management to bring the Corporation back on track. He asked them to work with zeal, dedication and sincerity. The Minister assured the deputationists that their promotion cases would be settled soon and the concerned were asked to speed up the process. On the assurance of Minister, the President of the Union announced to call off the strike which was to be observed on 10th August 2009. Among other Commissioner Secretary Transport, Mr. Ab. Hamid, Managing Director JK SRTC, Mr. Anup Khanna, representatives of Union and large number of employees were present on the occasion.
