| Ratanpuri felicitated | | CAPD being revitalized to rationalize PD system: Akhoon | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, August 09 – Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) and Transport Qamar Ali Akhoon has said that these will be no laxity in providing basic amenities to the people of the state adding that the CAPD department has been revitalized to rationalize the public distribution system. He said government is determined to break the nexus between millers and transporters to check the pilferage of foodgrains meant for public distribution.
The Minister was addressing at a function at Pulwama today organized by the National Conference Wing of the District to felicitate Ghulam Nabi Ratanpuri on his election as Rajya Sabha Member.
Akhoon also asked the district administration to provide clean administration and solve the problems of the people without delay.
Felicitating Ratanpuri, the Minister prayed for his successful career ahead and urged him to dedicate himself to the service of people.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik while quoting Ratanpuri hoped that Ratanpuri will come to the expectations of the people as the party leadership reposed trust on him.
Minister for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo hoped that Ratanpuri will take his responsibility in a dedicated manner which the party leadership has put on his shoulders.
Addressing on the occasion, G. N. Ratanpuri said that he will try to come to the expectations of people as well as party. He sought cooperation of the people in implementation of development works in the state.
Later, Akhoon inspected the food godown at Pulwama and took stock of the foodgrains there. The Minister was informed that during the current months to date 16736 quintals of rice have been lifted and so far 14034 quintals have been dispatched to the sale centres of the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, SP Pulwama and other senior officers of the district administration besides large number of national conference workers were present on the occasion.
