| JD (U) extends support to Jammu bandh call | | Dimple holds Kashmiri leadership responsible for present unrest in Jammu region | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 9- Extending its full support for August 10 Jammu Bandh call, the President of the Youth Wing of Janata Dal (United) Jabar Singh Rissam and State General Secretary Amit Gandotra today urged the state government to establish Central University at Samba in Jammu at the earliest Addressing a rally here today Amit Gandotra said that the party has decided to extend its full support to the Central University Aandolan Samiti for carrying forward the agitation for establishment of Central University. He appealed the students, political and l social organizations including the business community and Bar members to join hands and fight against the discrimination over the issue of Central University. In the meantime President Jammu West Assembly Movement has urged the Prime Minister Dr. Man Mohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to issue directive to the State Government to immediately start work on the already sanctioned Central University for Jammu Region and defuse the present volatile situation of the Jammu Region. He also urged upon the Prime Minister to immediately send a central team in Jammu for establishment of the University at the already selected place at Samba. Addressing media persons here today Sunil Dimple said that the recently held meeting by the state Government with the Central leadership was a mere eye wash. He urged upon the National Conference and Congress Party to clear their stand over the opening of the already sanctioned Central University for the Jammu Region. He held the Kashmiri leadership and politicians responsible for the present unrest in Jammu and warned that if the CU was not set up in Jammu the situation may take an ugly turn.
