| GGHSS Poonch celebrates World Tourism Day | | |
POONCH, SEPTEMBER 28 -A function was organized in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Poonch to celebrate the “World Tourism Day”.
The programme was inaugurated and presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch Mr Mubarak Singh while CPO Poonch Mr P. S Kakroo was the guest of honour.
Thirteen students of the school participated in the programme and highlighted the importance of tourism industry for the development of the country.
The ADDC explained at length and told the audience about the tourist places in the country. He said that scenic splendor and composite culture of our country is world famous and such beauty cannot be found any where on this earth. He also informed that Tourism Development Authority Poonch has been formed and the plan for the developing various tourists places in this district by the authority.
He further disclosed that a detailed project in this behalf has been formulated for an amount of Rs.20 crore and an amount of Rs.2 crore has already been sanctioned by the government in favour of this authority. Besides, Government of India has also provided an amount of Rs.4.50 crore under Tourist Circuit Development for developing infrastructure in different places of Poonch district. He congratulated Principal of the school for organizing a decent programme in a very short notice.
Later, the ADDC gave away the prizes to all the participants.
