Bishnah Congress workers hold meet discuss problems

Jammu, Aug 10: The senior Congress leader and former minister Gulchain Singh Charak has urged upon the government to pay compensation to the aggrieved people of villages of Chakra, Laswara, Khairi etc villages where besides loss of precious human lives and cattles due to electricals wares and poles erected in a haphazard manner. He demanded that steps should be taken for proper management of whole electric system in Bishnah tehsil.
Addressing the large number of Congress workers of Bishnah constituency he appealed to the administration to look into the mismanagement of the electric department in the various villages of tehsil Bishnah and especially of village Laswara, where a couple was electrocuted.
Welcoming the announcement made by chief minister for providing Rs 5 crores to the people affected by the wind storm in Handwara area of Kashmir which took place on 26th of July, 2009 he said farmers were shocked over the discriminatory treatment meted out to the people of various villages of Tehsil Bishnah and other adjoining area where more than 80% crops were destroyed by the hail storm during the intervening night of 15/16th Oct, 2008, for which the revenue department has completed the whole exercise of assessing the loss occurred and the department has calculated the total loss amounting to Rs. 33 Crores 11 Lacs and 16 thousand. They contemned this discriminatory attitude of the Government and demanded that proper compensation for whole of the loss be given without wasting in more time.
It was also demanded that irrigation department should take immediate necessary steps to making proper arrangement for providing irrigation water through canals and distributaries.
The prominent persons among others who spoke on the occasion were Madan Lal Bhagat, Harshvardhan Singh, Ragunandan Khajuria, Om Parkash Saini, Gurdas Ram Bhagat, Sain Singh and Rakesh Dogra.
