| Terror attack threat still looms; Hizbul militant hiding in NCR | | | Agencies New Delhi, Aug 10: The Special Cell of the Delhi Police may have reasons to celebrate after having caught two suspected Hizbul militants four days ago, but the danger of terror strikes in the national capital in the lead-up to Independence Day is far from over as their third accomplice is still evading the arrest. According to Delhi Police Headquarters sources, the militant is still playing elusive and it is being believed that he, in all probability, is hiding in Delhi or the National Capital area. The police are conducting raids at different places at a maddening pace and the Special Cell is quite confident the militant would soon be in police custody after getting brief details about his lookouts from the arrested duo. While one team of the Special Cell has been sent to Gorakhpur in eastern Uttar Pradesh, another has been dispatched to Jammu and Kashmir, where the two arrested militants belong to. The sources said the two militants, who were arrested on August 6 night, during interrogation provided some vital information and the team which has been sent to Gorakhpur is tasked with finding out who provided railway tickets to the two militants, Ashiq Ali and Javed Ahmed, for travelling to Delhi and where the duo stayed in Delhi before being apprehended. Significantly, the duo had been caught hours after the Home Ministry warned that the Lashkar-e-Taiba might carry out terror attacks in New Delhi, Kolkata or Hyderabad ahead of Independence Day. The Ministry also sent advisories to the states based on intelligence inputs.
