| Members raise various public issues during Zero Hour | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, AUG 10: During Zero hour many members of Legislative Assembly raised issues of public importance demanding immediate attention of the government. Harshdev Singh sought setting up of Central University at Samba in Jammu. He urged government to make announcement for the same in the House. Mr. Ashwani Kumar also put up the same demand. Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan sought complete safeguarding of human rights in the state. Abdul Majid Wani sought establishment of central University in Doda district. M. Y. Tarigami demanded identification of culprits involved in double rape and murder of two women in Shopian. He said nobody should be arrested under PSA in Shopian for taking part in agitation. Ch. Zulfikar Ali demanded establishment of Central University in Rajouri district. Ashok Kumar sought compensation for farmers whose land has been acquired for construction of reservoirs. Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari demanded common hall for ruling and opposition legislators in the Assembly complex instead of separate rooms. The demand was instantly accepted by the government on the direction of Speaker. A. R. Veeri demanded a separate room for leader of the opposition. Wakar Ali demanded immediate redressal of grievances of apiculture farmers with regard to diseases, inflicting apiculture sector. Radhay Sham Sharma demanded improvement of power scenario in Nowshera constituency. Shamima Firdous demanded regular tanker water service in the interiors of Habba Kadal localities. Bimla Luthra demanded installation of hand pumps in Jammu rural areas. Abdul Haq demanded adequate medical staff including specialists for SDH Lolab. Syed Bashir Ahmed demanded list of non-state subjects who have allegedly constructed their houses in J&K and its peripheries. Rashpal Singh demanded electrification of all leftover villages and Gujjar and Bakerwal habitations in Kalakote constituency. Aijaz Jan demanded speedy execution of Mughal road. Javed Mustafa Mir demanded implementation of decisions of DDB meeting regarding establishment of PHC in Chadoora constituency. Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganai demanded speedy completion of Bye-pass road and bridge over Jehlum in Sopore. Yashpal Kundal demanded lifting of ban on inter district recruitment.
