Azad requests PM on Hja quota

CHANDIGARH, SEPTEMBER 28 – Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad at the conclave of Chief Ministers of northern India here today took up the matter with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for enhancing the Haj quota as a special case for Jammu and Kashmir state. He intimated the Prime Minister that a large number of people applied for performing Haj but due to limited quota most of the people could not be accommodated from the state.
The Chief Minister urged Dr. Manmohan Singh to take up the matter with the Government of Saudi Arabia for increasing the Haj quota so that all those who have applied for performing Haj from the state this year are accommodated.
The Prime Minister assured Mr. Azad that he will take personal interest and try his best for increase in the Haj quota for Jammu and Kashmir.
