| Awareness programme on Saffron cultivation at Kishtwar | | |

Jammu, Aug 11: A three day farmers training cum awareness programme on saffron cultivation organized by horticulture technology, division of plant pathology of SKUAST-Jammu was inaugurated at Kishtwar from today.
Dr. K.S. Risam, Director Extension Education SKAUST-J, who presided over the function impressed upon the importance of saffron cultivation in Kishtwar and its impact on the economy of the local farmers. More than eighty farmers and officers from the agriculture and horticulture departments attended the training programme. Dr. V.K. Razdan Professor & Head of deptt. deliberated in detail on various aspects of saffron cultivation and corm treatment to enhancement in productivity. Dr. Vishal Gupta demonstrated the methods of integrated diseases management of corm rot of saffron.
