| Schools in far flung areas of Kishtwar District without staff | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar Aug 11- The Students of high school Cherji today protested inside the Deputy Commissioner Office complex at Kishtwar against non availability of teaching staff. The agitating students alleged that only two ReTs besides, a lady teacher were presently posted in the school making it difficult to take all the classes regularly. The agitating students accompanied by Shabir Ahmed Kamal, President MC Kishtwar and senior National Conference leader called on incharge Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Nazir Ahmed Shah and apprised him about the problem faced by the students of far flung areas of district Kishtwar. Kamal informed the DC that ReT teacher Sanjay Kumar who is simply a matriculate holds the charge of in charge Principal of newly upgraded High School Cherji having more then 200 students on roll. Meanwhile, the CEO Kishtwar K.K Sharma and ZEO Nagsini Kunti Devi informed the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar that five teachers and two RET teachers are posted at HS Cherji which includes Ghulam Mohammad Malik, Hameeda Begum, Nazir Ahmed Mir, Tasleema Begum Dev and newly appointed Pardeep Kumar. But the students and the residents contested this claim maintaining that only Tasleema was attending the school regularly and the whereabouts of other teachers was no known o them. The locals alleged that the schools functioning in and around were overstaffed while those schools functioning in far off areas were deficit of the sanctioned strength. They also alleged that majority of the teachers having political backing have managed to get themselves adjusted in the nearby schools. Taking strong notice of the allegations the Deputy Commissioner directed CEO Kishtwar for taking stern action against the absentees. District President Teachers Association Kishtwar, Mehboob Qazi demanded an inquiry into the mater besides cancellation of attachment orders of the teachers.
