| PSC to recruit 200 Forest officers | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, AUGUST 11- Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad today informed the House that 200 gazetted posts have been referred to Public Service Commission for speedy recruitment of qualified candidates. Making a statement in Legislative Assembly today in response to a point raised by Mr. M. Y. Tarigami and Ch. Mohammad Ramzan, the Minister said that speedy adjustment of the deserving candidates on these posts was vital for conservation and promotion measures of green gold in the state. Mr. Altaf said that Commissioner Secretary, Forests has been directed to follow the recruitment process with PSC so that these posts are filled up speedily. The Minister clarified that no any scheme on the pattern of Rehbr-e-Zarat exists in the departmental records. Earlier, Mr. Tarigami raising the issue demanded absorption of professional forest graduates in the department, urging government to talk with the representatives of striking un-employed trained professionals of forests presently on strike. Sharing the concern of Mr. Tarigami’s, Ch. Ramzan sought amendment in the Forest recruitment rules so that only Forest graduates and post graduates including DDR trained are adjusted in the department. He demanded reviving of Kashmir Forest Service like Kashmir Administrative and Kashmir Police Services in Forest department also. Giving directions on the issue, the Speaker asked the government to constitute committee for sorting out the issue. He directed for involving Mr. Tarigami and Ch. Ramzan with the committee for examining their suggestions.
