New Delhi, Aug 11 : This year, 1.15 lakh pilgrims will proceed for Hajj through the Hajj Committee of India, of which 1.04 lakh will travel under normal quota, and the first flight will leave on October 20, Acting Chairman of the Haj Committee said today. Acting Chairman Hasan Ahmed told mediapersons here that around 42,000 pilgrims will proceed on Haj pilgrimage through Saudi Arabian Airlines and 75,000 pilgrims will travel through Air India from 17 embarkation points. Till date, around 95,000 accommodation units in various categories had been hired for the Haj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. However, more hiring was still under process, Mr Ahmed said.
