Kathua, Aug 12 A team of Legal Metrology Department led by Assistant Controller conducted extensive checking at main bazar Kathua, Basholi, Mahanpur Billawar, Jatwal, Hiranagar, Lakhanpur and other adjoining areas and booked about 114 defaulters.
During the inspection more than 114 establishment dealing with different trades like Karyan, whole sale, Brick Kiln, Bakery, Meat seller, Halwaies, vegetable sellers, Gold smith, Petrol Pumps, Gas agencies were booked and a fine of Rs.30150 was imposed on these which was recovered on spot from the defaulters. The department has appealed the consumers to purchase only those items which carry manufacture date, date of packing and complete address of the manufacturer.
