Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 12: A PDP leader escaped unhurt in a firing by policemen after he allegedly did not halt his vehicle ignoring their signal in Bandipora district of North Kashmir, prompting authorities to arrest the four "errant" police personnel and register a case against them.
The policemen were arrested in connection with last midnight's incident involving PDP leader Yasir Reshi at Sonawari, 35 kms from here, Bandipora Superintendent of Police Sheikh Junaid told PTI on phone.
He said a case was registered against the arrested policemen and investigation taken up.
The Bandipora police chief said the arrested policemen claimed that one of them opened fire at the vehicle of Reshi after he ignored their command to stop it for checking.
However, Reshi claimed he stopped immediately but the policemen still opened fire.
