| Patriotic songs, cultural programs mark ID celebrations at MIER | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 13- Model Academy organized a number of colourful and fun filled activities and cultural program to celebrate 63rd Independence Day at both its B C Road and Residency Road Schools. At B C Road, the students presented patriotic songs and portrayal of different freedom fighters along with their dialogues expressing their struggle for freedom. Vice Principal, Usha Gadoo addressed the students and stressed the need to cultivate the value of patriotism and love for their country. She also congratulated the whole staff and students on the occasion of Janamashtmi as well. The children also performed a beautiful dance and a colouring competition was also held for small buds. An energetic and zestful participation of the students lent a look of festivity to the event. At Residency Road School, Rupa Gupta, Principal of the school was the chief guest on this occasion. The highlights of the day were patriotic song and dance and a short skit on Jallianwala Bagh massacre. A short video clip on Wagha Border was also shown to the students depicting an extravagant show of patriotism by the soldiers of both India and Pakistan. The pre-school buds also celebrated the day with great enthusiasm and presented a patriotic dance on the song ‘Nanha Munha Rahi Hoon’. The Principal in her speech highlighted the importance of freedom in one’s life and for the growth and development of nation. She said that everyone should take a pledge to work together as one strong force to protect the country and spread universal love and brotherhood. Dr. Arun K. Gupta, Chairman and Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER also joined in congratulating everyone on Independence Day.
