| BJP High Command removes Ajay Jamwal as Gen Secretary | | Party lends its full support to CUAS: Khajuria | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 14: Taking serious note of growing indiscipline in the party, the BJP High Command has shifted Ajay Jamwal General Secretary from Jammu and Punjab. The Party high command has decided to initiate action against all those who were trying to sow seeds of dissension in the state unit of the BJP. The party sources said that a number of BJP leaders had complained to the party high command about the role of Jamwal during the Lok Sabha elections which resulted in the BJP candidates losing both the seats in Jammu region. The sources said that the high command was also planning to initiate disciplinary action against those found involved in creating dissensions in the party. As far as the organizational elections are concerned the state party President, Ashok Khajuria, said that these polls will be held early next year. In reply to a question he said the next four months will be spent on preparations for holding the elections at the tehsil, district and the state level. In reply to another question Khajuria said that he would not be contesting the election as the party constitution does not provide for another term for the president. When asked whether Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta and Dr Nirmal Singh were the only two candidates who were eligible for the party president's post Khajuria had no comments. About the on- going agitation against denying Central University for Jammu, Khajuria said that if the centre and the state Government further delayed the decision, the agitation will assume alarming dimensions. He said the BJP has decided to lend full support to the Central University Andolan Samiti and added "I hope the Government will end regional discrimination by establishing the University in Jammu." He said it was proper to allow Central University to be established in Jammu when one IIM was being set up in Kashmir.
